I joined IACS in December 2020 as Operations Manager after a 20-year career in operations management, education and training in a variety of industries.
I help to maintain the high quality and safety standards that we set as a business and industry. This involves placing inspectors on jobs; making sure that they have all the necessary information and equipment required; liaising directly with our clients on team performance and overseeing our internal ISO standards too.
In September 2023, when IACS unveiled IACS Training and Education and its pioneering apprenticeship, I was also appointed as Head of Apprenticeships.
Having spent almost two decades working within adult education, as an English Language teacher in South Africa, Italy and the UK, and as a Principal at a London-based English language school, this has enabled me to continue with my passion for developing people to become the best they can be.
Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Practitioner in Pipelines for Hydrogen and Utilities’ Apprenticeship, I recruit our apprentices, deliver assessment days and presentations, liaise with partner organisations and the apprentices to ensure they receive the best opportunities to learn and develop their career as inspectors.
Being integral to launching the new training arm of our business, and seeing the apprenticeship thrive, while knowing how this will positively impact our business and industry, is without doubt one of the proudest achievements of my career.
Away from the office, I am a keen follower of most sports with a love of cricket, rugby, American Football and football and have been a season ticket holder for almost 20 years at the best team in London, West Ham United (well, I think so!).
I love to cook, often testing new dishes on my wife and my two daughters and really enjoy travelling, so you can usually find me reading books and scouring the internet planning my next trip.
